Refugee Relief

When families choose to flee their homes to escape the terrors of war, this is not an easy choice. To leave everything they have known and worked for, for an uncertain future. For many of them the decision to flee is just the beginning of their traumatic journey to safety and so often the conditions that they are met with are far from providing them with the shelter and supplies that they need to survive.

Many families who have the fled war and violence of their countries now find themselves living in makeshift tents and shelters without basic needs, struggling to make ends meet. GAiN is dedicated to ensuring that their suffering is eased and their hope is restored through providing aid, shelter, blankets, warm clothes and by distributing various food and care packs throughout Syria, Iraq and Greece.

Refugee Winter Appeal

This is by no means over and the approaching colder winter months are only going to make the situation of millions of refuges so much harder.

There is currently a desperate need for winter supplies at the Moria Refugee Camp in Lesvos, Greece. Many thousands (including small children and vulnerable adults) are sleeping in overcrowded and unstable tents. As winter approaches there is an increasing lack of supplies to keep those in the camp warm and dry. In order to help better conditions, we urgently need the donations to send to those in need. You can find out all about our current appeal page here.

It costs £5 to send each box filled with relief supplies, you can donate to the GAiN Winter Appeal here through our UK partner Agapé.

Bringing Bags of Blessing to families inside Syria

We continue to support the work of our partner working inside Syria to meet the needs of those who have been internally displaced due to the conflict’s destruction.  Through distributing monthly emergency food aid packs we are helping to feed and support children and families. To be a part of our effort to help bring hope to those in Syria you can donate to our Syria Relief Appeal.

  • £10 to feed one child for a month
  • £50 to feed a family of 5 for a month

Each bag is designed to feed a family of five for one month, as well as providing basic clothing for children, and medicine. You can give a donation today or support a child or a family with food for as many months as you can.

Rebuilding Hope in Iraq

Families in Iraq have been forced to flee their homes due to ISIS’ relentless violence, with relocation often resulting in having to endure cramped and unsanitary conditions. However, GAiN is focused on being alongside these families as they seek to rebuild their lives and return to the places they once fled.  There is presently an emphasis on sending women’s care packages. You can help contribute to these packs by donating any of these items.

Every time we can send a message of hope that lets people know they haven’t been forgotten we can see that people are able to face some of the toughest situations on earth. You can join us in sending this message of hope by involved in responding to the needs in these places.
