Having already fled places of danger in their homelands many thousands (including small children and vulnerable adults) are facing this winter in temporary shelter in refugee camps in Greece. Many people are sleeping in overcrowded, makeshift tents and structures and there is a shortage of supplies to keep them warm and dry.
Global Aid Network is collecting donations of tents, sleeping bags, winter coats, warm clothing, nappies and other supplies for an urgent shipment that we are sending to Lesbos in December.
Would you like to contribute any of these items?
Your donations of sleeping bags, clothes and supplies will make a real difference to refugees from Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria and many other countries in crisis. These refugees thought they were finally arriving in place of safety in Europe, but now find themselves living in one of the toughest situations on earth, without an end in sight.
Please send items to our office address (GAiN UK, c/o Agapé, 167 Newhall Street, Birmingham, B3 1SW) by 25th November. Donations received after this will be sent in another transport going in the New Year.
You can also make a donation towards this appeal that will be used to send these items to the refugee camps. Visit our giving page here: www.give.net/refugeewinterappeal.
Perhaps you could also encourage a group of friends to collect as many of these items as you can?
