GAiN is a network of people ready to help those in need with heart and hand; that includes you!
Here are some ways that you can get involved:
GO: GAiN Overseas Projects
Overseas projects are a great way to give some of your time to help others, make relationships with new people and learn more about the work of GAiN around the world. There are short term projects running throughout the year and you can join individually or as a group. Projects are sometimes run in English by other GAiN offices around the world. So you can expect to join an interesting and diverse group of people!
GAiN is working with local partners who are providing help to refugees stuck in Greece after the Macedonian border closed in March 2106. You will spend a week helping our local partner church in a ‘Hotspot’, a government organised camp where the refugees are living, near Thessaloniki. You could be distributing food, playing with the children, or helping at the mother and baby clinic.
We have a team going in 15th-22nd October 2017, applications are open now with deadline 15th August.
GAiN Holland also have teams going regularly throughout the year. You can visit their page to find out more.
Following two years of team projects going to support the Roma community in Cluj-Napoca, we will be returning once more with a team in June 2017.
Building partnership with the local organisations has made a real impact in their ongoing work to see lives transformed for the long term. For a people who are consistently excluded from the wider culture there is a great need to show the children and teenagers that they are valuable and can reach for a better future.
Join us again this year, applications open until 28th Feb 2017
Our GAiN offices in Germany and Canada regularly lead projects to the children’s center in Ca-Ira, Leogane, Haiti. GAiN has been partnering with the orphanage since the 2010 earthquake that devastated Haiti. You could be playing with the children, teaching English, helping with construction work and experiencing local Haitian culture.
The next dates with GAiN Germany are 8th – 22nd April 2017.

Every year GAiN runs a student project in partnership with Student Life. Previous projects have been to support GAiN’s local partners at a Haiti orphanage and with the Roma community in Romania. They are great opportunities for university students to develop practical skills, make relationships and experience different cultures.
This year we are teaming up and taking a team to Greece for a week in April.
For more information speak to your university Student Life committee or email firstname.lastname@example.org

We are currently developing opportunities for professionals from within the medical and health sector to volunteer with our teams overseas. Please contact email@example.com for more information and to register your interest.
GAiN has an international database of people trained and ready to respond to disaster situations around the world. In the event of a disaster situation, depending on the circumstances GAiN will send a team to the area to assist one of our local partners in aid distribution, logistics and construction. When it is possible, GAiN may work with the local partner on a long term basis to provide support for several years after the disaster. You could be trained to respond as part of future teams.
Visit www.dartgain.eu to find out more about DART as well as how to apply and details for the next training.
GAiN Korea are recruiting volunteer teachers to work in their school in New Delhi, India. The school is able to reach children that would not usually have access to education. A foundation in English will allow students to apply for better jobs when they are older. You would be teaching English in the school classrooms and also with small groups outside the school. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
As a long term project lead by GAiN Germany we are committed to see the lives of the children cared for and set up for a stronger future. Now with new dormitories and kindergarten the prospects look brighter already. We are still looking for staff who are willing to move to Haiti and form a team with other international staff to manage the project on GAiN’s behalf alongside the local team. Please contact email@example.com for more information.
GIVE: Resources and Time
Working out of our central base in Birmingham we are running local projects on a seasonal basis to collect relief items to send to local partners around the world. We are currently running an appeal for School Supplies and Women’s Care Packs to send to families in northern Iraq.
You can find out the full list of items we are collecting on our Appeal Page.
Do you have skills in project management and operations? Are you interested in finance or communications? Do you have skills in managing social media? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, and you are based in Birmingham, then GAiN UK needs you!
In the UK, GAiN is working to involve students, professionals and families in finding ways to respond with humility and generosity to the broken and hurting world we live in.
We need more people to achieve this aim.
There are three ways you could get involved:
1. If this vision has grabbed your attention, and you want to become part of the work full-time, you may be interested in joining GAiN as a staff member.
2. If you are a recent graduate, you could join our internship programme, being trained and equipped for whichever path you choose in life through active involvement in GAiN projects and other Agapé movements.
3. If you are unable to commit full-time, but would still like to be involved, then you could volunteer with GAiN in an operational capacity, overseeing project management, finance or communications. This could be either short-term or long-term.
Your role could be coordinating much-needed projects to a particular country, informing GAiN donors and partners of the vital work that their support is enabling, or providing efficient reporting and management of finances associated with specific projects. What you contribute on an operational level would be an essential part of demonstrating unconditional love to suffering people across the world.
