Who we are: a Global Network

Global Aid Network (GAiN) is a worldwide relief and development organisation first established in 1998, that has since grown to nine resource offices working together in nearly forty countries. We are the humanitarian partner of a global Christian charity, mobilising people from across different background to respond in practical ways to poverty and crisis.

Being a network is at the heart of GAiN, we know that we can do so much more together than on our own. So we support and resource people to mobilise their own networks and communities where they live, study, work and pray.

In the UK,  GAiN started in 2015 and so far has been involved in sending staff, volunteers and aid to Syria, Iraq, Haiti, Romania, Greece and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Our Mission: Reveal Hope & Restore Life

We are dedicated to bringing hope and tangible help to people living in poverty and crisis. We believe that every life counts and deserves to receive unconditional love and help when they need it most.

In practice this means that we collect essential relief items for emergency response and operate through a growing network of collection points and volunteers around the UK. We host packing sessions and send teams to get hands-on giving their time and talent on the ground in countries where we are working.

Each of us are uniquely placed to respond and we want to unlock the potential in each individual based on their own life experiences and expertise to join with us in our mission.

Our Passion: Changed lives

We are driven to pursue change in our own lives. Our desire is to be increasingly generous as we respond with humility to the challenges of disasters and ingrained poverty.

In the bible Jesus teaches that we are to feed those who are hungry and thirsty, to help strangers who are without clothing and a home, and to support people who are imprisoned. GAiN strives to put these instructions into practice by caring for those who are vulnerable and living on the margins.

Whatever our background and beliefs, we recognise the importance to live with integrity, where our actions reflect our values. Our desire is to open up conversations and spaces to reflect on how our response to the brokenness we see around is a reflection of our own values.
